Skyscrapers & Variations Contest (13 Aug 2011)

Post by Hausigel »

Dear puzzle friends,
you are invited to participate in the 3rd Skyscrapers & Variations Contest which will take place on August 13th. The contest will be hosted on the homepage of the German puzzle community (http://www.logic-masters.de) and will run over 24 hours in total; each participant can choose a time window of 120 minutes to solve the puzzles.
Please note that the contest will run from midnight to midnight with respect to Central European Summer Time (GMT+2). The contest can be found in the menu on the left by selecting "Championships", then "Puzzle contests" in the next step. The instruction file is already available for download. Enjoy!

Hello,
the Skyscrapers contest has started. Two brief remarks:
I will manually adjust scores in case of (in my opinion) obvious typos; beyond that, scores will only be adjusted after Email/PM exchange.
Please note that solutions cannot be entered after the contest is officially finished, even if your 120 minutes are not over yet (best start before 10pm CEST).
Enjoy!

Hello,
the Skyscrapers contest is over. Congratulations to Michael Ley, and many thanks to all participants.
Minor changes to the standings are still possible. I have already made a few manual adjustments. I noticed that the participants with the nicknames
volxa, SCORPPROCS, bskbri, Yuhei, rubbeng, sugitakukun, inwluffy
made mistakes which could be simple type errors, but I do not have any contact information of those participants. If you want the scores to be adjusted, please send a short email to puzzle@hausigel.de.
If anyone else wishes an adjustment, please send an email to the same address. Otherwise I will finalize the standings on Monday night.

Is there a way to solve the puzzles now, that the contest is over? I do not mean to submit them, it's just that the file seems to be password-protected and I cannot find a password anywhere on the site.

They posted a link to an unencrypted version of the contest file on the forums:

I do recommend the puzzles - there are some beautiful puzzles here and the difficulty range should allow everyone to find something to enjoy.
