Re: UK Sudoku Championship 2021

For the renban groups example, in the middle shaded region, it contains the numbers 1-9 excluding 7. Does that mean that 1 and 9 are considered adjacent consecutive?

I think I'll try and setup a google sheet or something where people can register their interest in advance
I'll be doing the puzzle GP next week and I would like to discuss it afterwards :) If nobody else wants to host it, I wouldn't mind setting it up.

Re: [Mystery Theme] Puzzle Contest by IHNN & Eric Fox (June 3rd-9th)

I enjoyed it! It was interesting to see that most people opted for the square grid puzzles. I went entirely for the hexagonal ones. I love these kind of variations! And they were all challenging, too!

Re: Division C 2020-2021

I’m really excited for this round! I don’t know if some of these variations are original, but I really like the rule of 6 and socially distant minesweeper, as well as the triangle minesweeper rules. Although, I think in the instruction booklet, the socially distant and triangle minesweepers do not h...

Re: UKPA Skyscrapers Contest 25 February - 2 March 2021

I enjoyed the puzzles and got more finished than I expected! However I entered the wrong column key for one of the higher points puzzles I did... I guess I won't make that mistake so easily again :? The parkour puzzle was super fun. I was afraid it would be too difficult but actually it was a good d...

Re: 2021 WPF Sudoku and Puzzle GPs

Not such a good round for me either. I guess I just wasn't feeling it, since I broke some puzzles and it was discouraging for the rest of the event. Not only that but my printer was starting to run out of ink, though I doubt that affected my times.

Re: 2021 WPF Sudoku and Puzzle GPs

Puzzle round 2 instruction booklet is out! Some of these look tricky. I’m worried about making a mistake on 12 (BACA) and 20 (coupled tapa). Like maybe I’ll forget that the lettered cells in BACA can be crossed out, or I’ll fill in the wrong cell on tapa. I think I’ll put a square around the...

Hi v and welcome! We have plenty of different types. Sudoku is also popular around here. I don't mind it, but I prefer to do a variety of different puzzles. What are you studying?

Is there a pattern with 1s and 3s that I'm missing with the third? I'm struggling to get started on it.
What Freddie said is right, they lead into the 1-2-3-1 diagonals. If that is still difficult, I made a video showing how I did it, on my youtube

Re: Divisions A and B 2020-2021

I meant the classic slitherlink - I heard from some people that the first took longer than either of the other two Hmm, I did find the first slitherlink much easier and faster than the other two. The second two used some neat logic I hadn’t really used much before, though, so it took a while to fig...

It's worth stating anyway as that implication sometimes fails the "skim test".
That was definitely worth stating because somehow I missed that even though I’ve read the rules a few times, hahaha.

Thank you :)

Scrabble type puzzles

Any tips for solving these? I’m sometimes able to complete them, mostly by using intuition though, I’d rather be able to solve it logically. I’d love it if someone could walk through the recent GP scrabble question for example, since my normal method of "this seems like it would only fit here" ended...
