Re: Can't solve my own puzzle!
Maxelkat, There is no possibility of filling the upper right hand corner: The number left to the 42-clue (which must be at least 21, because of Nicks reasoning) must have one neighboring number on its diagonal. But this diagonal is VERY short, namely 2 squares, both of which belong to the 23-clue. T...

Re: 2011 UK Puzzle Championship (25-26 June 2011)
@Semax: Alan will surely officially confirm it: At #18 you have to place 8 polyominos. Two of them have the same shape (except rotation/reflection), the remaining six polyominos are unique in their shape. [edit: correct. (Alan)] So the answer to your question is 7+1. I didn't realize that the rules ...

Re: 2011 UK Puzzle Championship (25-26 June 2011)
Thanks, PuzzleScot Two red answers now. At one puzzle I missed something. Only a minor mistake, but surely a mistake at solving the puzzle. The other puzzle I have solved correctly but misinterpreted the answer string. I believe I might not be the only one with this mistake... Two costly mistakes bu...

Re: 2011 UK Puzzle Championship (25-26 June 2011)
Could you please check my answers? For me they seem ok, seems to me that lowercase answers are not accepted automatically.
Hopefully this is the reason. All but one of my answers should turn from red to green I hope...
Thanks for the test,
Stefan

Re: 2011 UK Sudoku Championship (11-12 June 2011)
At the #17 Frameless Sudoku I am stuck at an early point. In box 7 (lower left) I have determined all but the 68 pair. But then I get a contradiction at column 3 and row 6. Thus I assume that my box 7 is not correct. I arrive at: 319 52x 47y (x,y denoting the pair 6,8) Where is my error? Help is app...

Question:
#10 - No Donkey Step Sudoku: Do I understand correctly that it is not allowed that two cells contain the same number if the cells are diagonally adjacent or if the cells are in a diagonal line and there is exactly one other number inbetween?

Re: croco-puzzle
It is as Calavera mentioned: After pressing "Initialisieren" the server clock is starting to run. Furthermore the puzzle information is loaded onto the local computer such that different internet connection speed does not matter. After pressing "Start" a second clock is starting ...

Re: croco-puzzle
An important (perhaps) non-trivial tip for Laser is the following: If you color all the squares in checkerboard-fashon, then all the black squares will have laser beams in one direction (or will be empty) and all the white squares have laser beams in the other direction (or will be empty). More impo...

Re: Request: pyramid puzzles
Your problem must be some server issue. It does not make any difference if you solve the croco puzzles in a color different than black or in more than one color.
