Just FYI, looks like the "Contest discussion" link to this thread on the contest page is broken (the & is HTML-encoded).

Re: Sudoku duel
I've also been having fun with this, I think it has huge potential. Regarding the interface, I'd prefer to not have to click twice, i.e., button down, move to number, button up. That would also make it easier to abort by releasing anywhere else, which is tricky currently. As to number of players, I ...

Re: LMI Puzzle Marathon
Haha, Deb just showed me a link where someone had gone off on one about kakuro in general, and how my puzzle magnified everything he hated about the puzzle. Anyhow - here are some thoughts: - Generally there is only one break-in when I put together something as big as this. This tends to be towards...

Re: 2011 UK Puzzle Championship (25-26 June 2011)
How do you deduce this? Why would 333444 ....4. ....2. ....2. not work? OK, I skipped a mental step. How could the 2 only achieve 2 neighbours now? (But I think you saw that eventually) Yes. I still don't see a good argument for deducing that it's 444433 ....3. ....3. ....3. and not something else,...

Re: 2011 UK Puzzle Championship (25-26 June 2011)
Did the puzzle need trial end error to solve? Not at all ;) See walkthrough below. (You'll need to scroll, and I've used letters to replace piece sizes once they are placed) With given clues, we must have: 444433 (In this row, 4s are 1 piece (I); 3s are part of 1 piece.) ....3. ....3. ....3. Alan H...

Re: 2011 UK Sudoku Championship (11-12 June 2011)
Thanks for the contest. Quite a few nice puzzles here. I particularly enjoyed the top-heavy sudoku. The frameless sudoku was also great. I found the small consecutive sudoku quite hard -- thankfully I gave up quickly enough during the contest. I still haven't solved the Futoshiki and the no3-consecu...

I'm getting SQL errors when submitting the form. Is this happening to anyone else?
Edit: Looks like the submissions still got through. Thanks for the test!
