UK Open Sudoku Championship Instruction Book

The UK Open Sudoku Championship 2012 will take place on the 28th and 29th of April in Manchester, UK.

There are 3 rounds of sudoku and variants. The instructions for all 3 rounds are attached to this post, along with round lengths and point distributions.

Later in the week I will post again in this thread to link to a second version of the instruction booklet which will be identical except that it will describe the answer keys to enter when taking part in the online version of this contest. These will not be used by on-site competitors. The online version will run from the 28th April to the 6th May. [edit: these are now online at http://www.ukpuzzles.org/contests.php]

The top-ranked UK eligible competitor on-site will be offered a place in the UK World Sudoku Championship team for 2012.

A quick note - there is a typo in the example for puzzle 2:5. A tree, R2C1, is missing from the puzzle but is in the solution.

Just to clarify, you're referring to the puzzle competition, not the sudoku one. Well spotted - I've updated that graphic in the PDF now.
