Mike, is there a precise breakdown on the schedule for the event? Given that there are now WSC/WPC places at stake I am feeling more and more inclined to come along, certainly at least for the sudoku competition. This assuming that it's not too late to register, etc.

However, time and money are very much an issue for me at the moment - basically I'd like to know if it would be possible to come for just the Saturday...

I've booked the Coach House Brewers Fayre (by the Trafford Centre South Premier Inn) for the Saturday evening meal for us all at 8pm. Below is a link to the Coach House and also one to the menu. Prices may be slightly different (as I can't find a way of getting back to that link now after I first found it). We will be phoning the order through to them during the day on Saturday, so please be ready to select. I will pick up a definite menu from them on Saturday morning with actual prices etc.

For those travelling by train into Manchester the following link gives some information regarding metrolink/bus connections.

Quick update. I'm afraid one of my family has had an accident this evening, and is in hospital.
Therefore, I am bitterly disappointed that I won't be attending the festivities this year.
Mike & Gareth will be looking after everything, so you'll hardly notice me not being there. I'm sure all will run swimmingly.

Enormous kudos to Gareth for the immense effort he has put in for these contests - quite outstanding! I hope he doesn't have to pay for any of his own drinks this weekend!

Oh, there's a spare room going cheap at the Premier Inn adjacent to the event - ask me, Mike, Liane or Gareth for details if you are thinking of impulsively turning up for the event!

Alan

That's terrible news, I trust that it is not too serious and that they will make a full recovery.

I am sitting in my hotel room in Manchester, and looking forward very much to this weekend. It will not be the same now, but thanks for all your efforts, and for acknowledging the work that Gareth has done in compiling the set of puzzles with such a wide range of respected puzzle makers - great, Gareth.

Best wishes

Ken
