This looks an interesting type for me to get to grips with. So, based on the pink example, "single connected group" actually means "single edge-connected group"? Apologies if this is obvious to everyone else, but I am still struggling to get to grips with this parallel universe of Puzzles that takes me out of my traditional comfort zone!

Yes, that’s perhaps clearer. The numbers must all be connected along edges to make one group.
