I had a bit of a nightmare for this one. Despite getting the tricky start on Unordered Pairs I somehow missed the existence of one of the other clues and had to make a guess after being stuck for a long time. Coded Pairs felt arduous and I managed to break the Fortress twice before eventually solving it.

I solved the puzzles again on my commute home about a week later, after the dust had settled, and they all solved smoothly, all 10 variants done in 45 minutes. So probably just a bad day at the office.

Thanks Tom.

I was interrupted for approximately 10 minutes by a work colleague! The enforced break may have helped me crack that final remainder puzzle.

I enjoyed the final remainder puzzle after time.

During the contest I started with it, and thought I'd shown it had no solutions after 5 minutes, so moved onto the other puzzles, taking a few minutes between each one to see if I could spot my mistake with the remainders. Only realised after the contest was over that I'd forgotten to consider that the chain of numbers in the centre box could go either clockwise or anticlockwise!

I had to guess judiciously for the Difference-N puzzle, on the other hand.

For completeness, top 3 from round 6:

39 Tom Collyer 84.5
58 Sam Cappleman-Lynes 73
68 Matthew White 67

A final leaderboard is available here. Scores have been normalised using a rather basic linear scaling (not optimal with such a highly varying series of rounds) - so that the top score =100. The worst two rounds are discarded, giving a max score of 400.

40 Tom Collyer 248.8
50 Sam Cappleman-Lynes 235.6
90 Matthew White 178.9
