Competition page and instructions are now live.

Note that the instructions do not yet have the points distribution. This will go live later this week, probably on Wednesday or Thursday. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

One thing that has come up from the testing is a clarification to the rules of Puzzle 11 Consecutive Pairs. Not all possible pairs of cells have been marked! This means that it is possible for consecutive numbers to be placed in adjacent cells where there is no marking between them. This is the main difference between Consecutive Pairs Sudoku, and Consecutive Sudoku.

This will also be made clear in the updated instructions, and in the competition puzzle booklet.

The link to this thread from the contest page is currently broken - there's an incorrectly-escaped ampersand in the URL.

Thanks - I thought the link was fixed but turns out it’s only in the admin version. Alan, could you fix please?

Also, an updated version of the instructions is now available, with points distribution.

As regards the bonus points, am I correct in my understanding that a solver who submits correct solutions to 15 puzzles and also makes a random guess at the 16th will score the partial bonus of 2 points per minute saved, but a solver who submits 15 correct puzzles and makes no attempt at the 16th will not?

Thanks very much! When I submitted the Thermo Sudoku with 15 seconds remaining, I didn't realise just how important it would be!
