Liane,

Any idea when we start on the Saturday? Wondering if I can fly over on the Saturday morning.

Have the hotel offered an overnight rate to us or are people planning to stay elsewhere?

Thank you,

David.

Accommodation will be at the hotel, and there is also accommodation being arranged for the Friday night for those who want it too. I certainly plan to get there on the Friday evening to avoid early morning travel on Saturday! :)

For the avoidance of doubt:

1) Please would you confirm it is possible to attend from 4pm to 4pm only for just the puzzle tournament on a single 24 hour pass?
2) Please would you confirm if it would be acceptable for commuters to attend for the tournaments only by buying two day passes, or does the 6pm deadline apply hard to the point of turfing someone out mid-round? Clearly much of the appeal is the time spent together outside competition but there are some people for whom this might be the best option.
3) Any puzzling plans for the evening other than good food and good company?

Thank you! Not sure if it's on the cards for me to go this year but these would help me decide.

1) If you are attending just the puzzle tournament, then that will be possible on one 24 hour pass.
2) Yes commuters will be able to take part in both tournaments withtwo single day passes. Anyone would still be welcome to be around in the evening, joining us in the bar etc. but obviously this wouldn't include an evening meal etc.
3) Nothing specific once the rounds have finished other than the food, company and drinks.

Will be great to see you and anyone else if they can make it.

I have just noticed that the weekend coincides with the last games of the six nations. Could we find a way to show the England France game after the puzzling has finished on Saturday?

I'm a big rugby, and 6-nations, fan myself - I too hadn't noticed the clash.
Conveniently for me, the Scotland match should be finished by 4pm, when the puzzle tourny starts.

As for 'watch later' on the England match, I suspect the whole thing will be available on iPlayer on a laptop, which could be connected to a tv in the bar, or more likely, someone's bedroom. erm, just checked iPlayer - seems it is only the highlights program available.

Actually, I think if you can watch the match online via BBC streaming (or elsewhere?) you can 'pause' the stream and watch later. I suggest someone (who is interested in watching England play) experiments with this for the next match.

I may just opt for the simple solution and skip round one of the puzzles - and of course buy you a drink in the bar afterwards
