Congratulations to Heather Golding, who has claimed a maiden UK Sudoku Championship. Heather finished 15 of the set of 17 mind-bending sudoku puzzles within 2 hours in a strong performance, and now qualifies for the UK team at the World Sudoku Championships later this year in Sofia. Joining Heather on the team is runner-up Mark Goodliffe, who very narrowly beat off competition from Neil Zussman and Michael Collins.

The championship was also open to international participation, and was contested by the world's elite. A total of 11 participants successfully finished the set of 17 puzzles, with Kota Morinishi of Japan putting in a dominant performance to top the table. Congratulations Kota!
