In the World Sudoku Championship (WSC), the UK team finished in 6th place, tying for their best ever performance.
Team: David McNeill, Tom Collyer, Mark Goodliffe and Heather Golding.
Further congratulations to David and Mark who were the top two competitors respectively in the 'over 50' category.
In the World Puzzle Championship (WPC), the UK team finished in 5th place. The best result ever!
Team: James McGowan, Neil Zussman, David McNeill and Adam Bissett.
Coincidentally, we are (I believe) the highest ranked team in either contest that has no sponsor.
A golden opportunity for someone, I'm sure ...
I expect everyone thoroughly enjoyed this exhausting but exhilarating experience, especially those not in an A team, or those at their first tournament.
Well done all. I hope to see everyone at the UK Open in February, and again in Czech Republic next year.

I never heard of any sponsor for the german team... (Well actually in ancient times - before 2006 - we had one.)PuzzleScot wrote: ↑Sat 21 Oct, 2017 7:24 pm Coincidentally, we are (I believe) the highest ranked team in either contest that has no sponsor.

The Japanese have no sponsor either. They seemed to do semi-decently this year
