The instruction booklet has now been made available at the contest page, linked above.

A new version of the instruction booklet has been published with slightly modified points values.

For the renban groups example, in the middle shaded region, it contains the numbers 1-9 excluding 7. Does that mean that 1 and 9 are considered adjacent consecutive?
Re: UK Sudoku Championship 2021
1 and 9 are not considered consecutive. The middle box actually contains four distinct shaded groups of two cells each, although I can see how it could be easily misconstrued
In the contest puzzle itself the regions are clearly distinct from each other, so this sort of mistake shouldn't happen there, in case you were worried!

Just a reminder that this contest is now ongoing and continues until tomorrow night.

How do I get the password for puzzles file? Is that from the Answer Submission Page link?
Re: UK Sudoku Championship 2021
Yes, on the answer submission page there will be a button which starts your timer, and the password is revealed to you when you do so.
Re: UK Sudoku Championship 2021
D'oh - thought I could take the puzzle this evening on American time, but the contest ends a few hours too early to make that feasible. Understood that this is the UK championship - but an end time of say 6:00 UTC instead of 2:00 UTC would give us one more evening on this side of the pond.

Thanks for organising this Sam. I am enjoying working through those I didn't solve in the time given. The odd-even-big-small was very elegant.
