UKPA Open Sudoku and Puzzle Tournaments 2020

The instruction booklets for the events are now available. If anyone has any queries, please post those on this thread clearly identifying the event, round and puzzle and we will endeavour to respond as soon as possible. Many thanks go to all the authors and test solvers without whom we wouldn't be able to run such great events. You are in for a treat. Some of the test solver comments include - 'Fantastic round', 'Awesome', 'Really enjoyed', 'Wish I could be taking part'.

Thanks Liane. Does the absence of Sudoku Round 4 suggest that David McNeill's Hybrid Test provides an effective instruction booklet for this round?

When I looked earlier there was a Sudoku Round 4 booklet, and the puzzles contained therein were exactly the puzzles from David's online test.

We spotted a mistake in it and am in the process of amending it. As Feadoor says the examples are the puzzles that were the online competition. I'll get the amended version uploaded as soon as possible.

Thanks Sam, I'll pass your best wishes on to everyone taking part. They've just started round 2.
The overall winner of the Sudoku Tournament was Vincent Bertrand with 1282 points, with Tom Collyer running a close 2nd with 1258 points. Mark Goodliffe was in third place with 1060. The most improved went to Heather Mitchell and the Best Newcomer - Erin Hamalainen.

Results of the Puzzle tournament are: 1st Neil Zussman with 2372 points, 2nd Vincent Bertrand with 1593 and 3rd Tom Collyer with 1560.

In this time of unprecedented worldwide uncertainty, the puzzle authors have kindly agreed to share their puzzles from the recent UKPA Open Tournament, which was probably the last face to face puzzling event anywhere round the world for the foreseaable future. We are unable to share the first round of the Sudoku tournament as those puzzles wil be published elsewhere.
I hope that you enjoy solving them. This post will include the Sudoku rounds and the next the Puzzle rounds.

Thanks for sharing this. It has been a long time since i haven't solved sudoku on paper. Absolutely top-level quality sudokus !
