Minor clarification of answer keys for #6 and #18.
#6: Enter the content of the marked rows using the pentomino "letter" for pentomino pieces or # for empty cells. (The pentomino letters will be given with the pentominoes in the competition booklet.)
#18: Enter the content of the marked rows - identifying what region a cell belongs to using # for domino cells.

No 13 Coins - Instruction Puzzle Query
Hi, I think I found another solution to that given,
50120520,5015520
transposing the 3 x 20 in col 4 with adjacent 50,5.5 in col 5

Nice instructions book, it always looks so long at first glance...
One minor comment: can we accept C3,C5,E3 for the Battleships answer key? It is Battleships after all!

Yes, that would be an alternative solution for the example. All competition puzzles do have unique solutions.stanley wrote:Hi, I think I found another solution to that given,

For you James! Yes, this will be acceptable, however, as it won't be the primary solution in the answer key it would need to be reviewed and approved. The co-ordinates on the competition puzzle will be slightly darker than those in the example as I've been made aware that they don't print clearly on all printers.kiwijam wrote:Nice instructions book, it always looks so long at first glance...

Re: UK Puzzle Championship 2017 / WPC Qualification
If people are wanting some practise puzzles, I've collected 32 puzzles from last year's WPC that match types in this weekend's UKPC.
(Hopefully the zipped .ppt format is ok to open and print. I had to compress it to 0.97Mb to get it below the 1Mb forum limit.)
[EDIT: Sorry, it is forbidden to publicly publish WPC puzzles, so I've removed it from here.
UKPA members can access the file here. Alan (admin)]
