Very Clever Puzzle Compendium

Post by Maxelkat » Fri 09 Sep, 2011 9:54 am

Hi everyone. I apologise that I haven't been around here much recently - I've been very busy. There are two main reasons for this.
Firstly, I'm a new father. Austin, my second child, was born at the end of June, and so spare time and sleep have been rare commodities of late.
Secondly I've been putting the final touches to a book I've been writing:

http://www.lulu.com/product/paperback/v ... 1/16959343

If you click on the 'preview' button you can view the first page of each chapter. The book is divided roughly equally between Logic, Word and Number puzzles. As the UKPA is geared towards logic puzzles, I'll let you know that the appropriate chapters are:

Grey Area
Forest Map
Dice Logic
Logic Leftovers
Zipline

But if you enjoy a bit of maths and/or word games, you'll like the rest of the book too.

It's taken me quite a while to write it, and went through two aborted incarnations, but I'm really happy with how it looks :) I'm hoping it's the first of many, but I might have to wait till Austin's a bit older before I find myself with enough time again!

Just bought it ;)

Excellent work. Best of luck with that. Nice to see some lovely logic puzzles in there too (eg "Hex ying-yang")

I recently bought a book by one of the UKPA members.
I won't say who it was, as the book was reduced to 99p from a remainder bookshop.
Enjoying it though, 99p well spent :)
