That'll give Neil and Tom (and Liane) a chance to beat me ;)
I'd forgotten all about this one. Been up to my eyes with work. Will give it a go later.

I only managed about 90 minutes as Alex's return from Paris was delayed and the hour time difference. Good set of puzzles though.

Re: UK Sudoku Championship 2015

I might have enjoyed puzzling, but I was stymied by the fact that I started "in time", while the competition was officially "over" during my two hours for solving. Is it possible to actually state the competition time next time as being "over" two hours earlier than the final submission is allowed?...

Round 7 results are up. http://gp.worldpuzzle.org/content/offic ... p-puzzle-7
Well done all round. I wonder how many used the "clue" for the galaxies? I certainly didn't - I had a quick glance at the puzzle types, then got stuck in as time was against me.

kiwijam wrote:The answer key for #17 looks the same as before to me, what change was made?
It said "...using L for shaded containing..." instead of "...using L for cells containig ...""

It has been changed in the puzzle booklet but not the instruction booklet.

Re: UK Puzzle Championship 2015

For puzzle 24, can you clarify whether B1 would come before or after A2 in the answer key? (In puzzle 28, the order is clear from the example, but the instructions are worded the opposite way round to puzzle 24, so I'm not sure whether this implies the opposite order for #24.) It may be that gettin...

Re: UK Puzzle Championship 2015

Liane, Thanks for posting the instruction booklet. Looks like an interesting set. I find the grey tabs in Puzzle 13 a bit unsatisfactory. I assume the intention is that the letters in these tabs have the same spacing as in the central grid. It would be nice if these tabs could be subdivided into ce...

Hi All,
There's a potential newcomer looking to have a go this weekend, but has a faulty printer. Can anyone advise on the use of "paint" to solve the puzzles please? - It's something I've never used.
Thanks.

Re: 2015 Puzzle GP

I had printer problems for some reason with this one - it only printed the first few pages out, sent to the other printer - that did similar, so finished up printing odd ones at a time.
Finished a 30+ pointer with only a couple of seconds spare so no time to submit the answer.

Re: 2015 UK Open Sudoku and UK Open Puzzle Tournaments

Quick couple of things on round 2 of the sudoku. Apologies for my ignorance but I don't know the term "Parity". From the example I am guessing it means both odd or both even, but I thought I would check. Also, the example for puzzle 6 has the wrong solution. I think it should be "8 9" not "7 8" in ...
