It's 39x7 because the numbers in each of the 7 rows sum up to 39.
Does it encrypt coordinates for geo-caching?
Maybe "o" is for "opaque", not for "empty".

The rules are almost the same, but the last sentence in the Mochinyoro rules reads: "The black cell must not cover an area of 2x2 or larger and must not be rectangular (or square). " (the bold half-sentence is missing in Mochikoro). Note that this is different from the 2x2-rule; it also excludes bla...

Thanks Alan! In Firefox and in Opera you should see an orange RSS icon in the address bar. Click on it and you will get a list of supported feeds. Masyu: I think the "or both" is an improvement. In Latin, there are two different "or"s: "vel" is the inclusive "or" (detuned used) and "aut" is the exclusive "either-or". Unfortunately, there is no such distinction in most ouf our modern languages. We have a simple inclusive "or" and must express t...

Re: Coincidence?!?
In composing chess problems it is relatively frequently the case that the same chess puzzle is composed twice by different authors at different times – not seldom by composers which are above reproach. In this case the later problems are marked as "anticipated by <original-author>". For example: htt...

I hope the user interface is intuitive enough. However, there are some nice features which may not be obvious - for example, dragging with the keyboard.

Alan, You should disable the load/save buttons because they don't work in the ukpuzzles.org environment (set "f.save" to "no"). You should try to set "f.cursor" to "yes" at least for one applet. Maybe this is preferred by some users. "All we need is a timer" -- Why do you need a timer? There is alre...
