Re: 2017 Puzzle GP

I agree too. If I was a beginner, and only did the C contest, I'd be giving in right away. A) It was too hard, period. A seasoned puzzler, regardless of level, should have been able to finish with time to spare. B) Only 4 of my 10 submitted answers were correct! Regardless of silly mistakes, in no w...

Re: 2017 Puzzle GP

Thanks Steve. I'm firmly in class C (to start with) then... Pretty sure each of the class contests are 60 minutes *each*: The participant chooses a Division, and has 60 minutes to submit the correct answers to as many puzzles as they can. They may then choose to attempt the puzzles for as many other...

Re: What is her house number?

Given only the first piece of information, the options (a<=b<=c) are: 1,3,12 -> 16 1,6,6 -> 13 2,2,9 -> 13 2,3,6 -> 11 3,3,4 -> 10 The guest will obviously know the house number, so not knowing the answer at this stage tells us it must be 13. The second clue tells us that of the 2 options, it is th...

Let's not ignore Hideaki. This was a 'harder than usual' championship, but Hideaki Jo finished all 29 puzzles with time to spare. Outstanding achievement.

Re: UK Puzzle Championship 2016/WPC Qualification

During final checking, there appears to be a problem with one puzzle. The start time has therefore been temporarily put back until 8pm, although the contest will be available as soon as we are sure all is good to go.
