Re: Monthly optimization

Hi. I took part in one of these some time ago. I seem to remember there was a high score table somewhere.
Can you let me know where that is please (if it exists), and how to submit an answer for the optimiser?

Thanks.

Re: Greetings from Canada

Welcome Jeff! You just missed the annual UK Open gathering, but there are Puzzled Pint meet-ups in London reasonably often, which anyone is welcomed to, at which you should be able to meet some kindred spirits.

Unfortunately I was away all week and missed this - I do love Riad's contests.

Yes, well done James - top overall!

Congrats to yourself Thomas, 3rd placed Brit! ;)

That's very naive of you to even suggest that.

Re: My jigsaw game, Safari Jigsaw (safarijigsaw.com).

My first comment on this, as I imagine would be everyone else's too: What is the google login page all about on the opening page?? Clicking cancel (because hey, everyone expects a modicum of privacy, right?) just reloads the page. Bad practice in the extreme! Edit - It's the same on the app version!...

Re: Sudoku duel

I've never see myself as any good at sudoku, but I have to admit I'm getting a lot faster at spotting the next placement now. The obvious improvements the site needs are: - show how many / who is online - chat. Maybe that's too much, but even just a button to say "Thanks for the games but I must go ...

Re: 2015 UK Open Sudoku and UK Open Puzzle Tournaments

I'm a big rugby, and 6-nations, fan myself - I too hadn't noticed the clash. Conveniently for me, the Scotland match should be finished by 4pm, when the puzzle tourny starts. As for 'watch later' on the England match, I suspect the whole thing will be available on iPlayer on a laptop, which could be...

Re: Simple Aptitude Question ( which i cannot solve)

I think it's answer must be check by the law of probability. No. Check the spoilered text in the 5th post. There is no "probability"! The only caveat is Ekaterin's comment: "The solution is only unique if you assume that there are no puppies which are not small, are not brown and do not have long h...

Re: croco-puzzle

David,

Perhaps you've already worked this out for yourself?
We've seen this type before (as 'water tank' ?) in past WPCs.

"Fill cells with water so that the row/column clues are satisfied.
Within an outlined area, cells with water cannot have empty cells beside or beneath them"
