Re: LMI - Puzzle Ramayan & IPC Qualifiers : September - Marc
I see that this contest's deadline has been extended to 23:59:59 Tue 1 March 2016.
That gives everyone at the UK Open a decent chance to compete, and of course delays the time to start discussions until 01:30 Wed 2 March (since you can start and get the full 90 minutes right up to the deadline)

We have all 3 names : "David McBryan, 41, from Dublin, Wim Hulpia, 40, from Belgium and American-born Kelley Kirklin, 54, who lives in London, will each receive a GCHQ paperweight, pen and signed copy of the book Alan Turing Decoded, written by his nephew Dermot Turing." The BBC said Byran was from...

Re: WPF Puzzle GP 2016
I see James must have diverted to the casual section and come back to the main comp. Seems he attempted 8 (6 correct) of the casual puzzles - he couldn't have done that in 5m34s, surely? I find it 'wrong' that someone with 21/22 (Ken) can beat someone with 22/22 (James) with a relatively small time ...

Re: GCHQ Christmas puzzle
ITV has asked if we can get a small group of puzzlers together to film a piece for News at 10 tonight.
Would anyone be up for that? I've asked for details on time/location. Guessing early evening somewhere London or thereabouts...

Yeah. Gareth and I have both been asked to appear on Sky News to discuss this.
I solved the hanji quick enough, but the 'next stage' on gchq's site isn't opening very quickly (ie, at all!)

Re: Account Deletion?
The bots simply are not getting through any more. The 'not a bot' button (plus a couple of other background checks) is surprisingly effective. The ones that do get through (1 or 2 per day at most) are done by real people, I believe. IP location checks usually flag these easily enough. In the past we...

This, like many other self-registration forums, is subject to a constant barrage of spam registrations. (c.100/day on here). I cannot investigate every registration attempt, so have to be fairly ruthless I'm afraid. Believe it or not, I lean on the side of leniency. However, in your specific case, y...

James is top Brit again... Stellar performance from 'masonjason' (Saul Glasman(?)) too! At the half-way mark, I was convinced I was going to finish this... In the end, I couldn't get the larger of the 4 galaxies out. Aborted, and went on to do the 4/5 galaxies (nice!) and the lower point ones Should...

Re: Tapa Variations
Thanks - I've fixed that claim. The PDF clearly has types created after 2012. eg, #94 onwards say "TVC 2013".
I believe Serkan is maintaining this catalogue anyway, and would be interested to hear of any not listed.

Tapa Variations
During a discussion in Sofia, someone mentioned there was a booklet published with all known 'many' Tapa variations.
I found it here, on the LMI TVC page. (Direct link to pdf download)/ I thought some others might be interested in it too.
There are 123 variations over the 48 pages.
