Re: Puzzle Marathon 2015 - LMI

True, the authors became known when the competition started (when Rakesh posted above). I suppose that might mean Tom is yet to start? Anyway I think the odds stay constant, you only get your 1/8 guess after the first is wrong (9/10) and the second is wrong (8/9), so it's still 1/10. And you want to...

Re: Puzzle Marathon 2015 - LMI

which I took great pleasure in making much too hard, so I've got to say I'm quite miffed by being completely overlooked this time round. have you considered there may be a link between those two points? ;) Also James, stop making your guessing game too easy! We've gone from 1/10 to 1/8 in the blink...

Re: Puzzle Marathon 2015 - LMI

My guess - Regional coded snake I don't like Snakes much, their logic has never appealed to me... I shall guess Meandering Numbers purely because I like the type. I like them too, and wrote one for last year's GP to promote the new Japanese idea (and try to change the name to anything but "Count Nu...

Re: 2015 Sudoku GP

I thought, when I checked the rules about applying for bonus points, you could only do that with a full submission - is that wrong? I had a discussion with the organisers last year along those lines. My understanding is that to gain bonus points you may only have a minor error (e.g. two digits swap...

Re: 2015 Puzzle GP

Well done to those that did well. :) A great theme for all the puzzles. And I really like the idea of 8 sets of three puzzles, which allows a wide range of difficulties and should make it more approachable to beginners while still challenging the others. But those 24 puzzles were so time-consuming.....

Re: Happy new year

The 7 in the star is a normal 7. It has no 'consecutive' rules.
There are six white circles in the sky. These are the 'stars'. They show pairs of consecutive numbers.

Very nice Tom, thank you!

A message regarding the Online Shop at Crocopuzzle. It will be closing permanently on/after Saturday 29/11. Thanks Tawan,
#6 was also my favourite (I have found some at http://www.janko.at/Raetsel/Foseruzu/index.htm before, this one has nice logic), and I always have a soft spot for a nice Kanaore (#8).

This is a pdf magazine with higher difficulty puzzles than the Akil Oyunlari magazine.

It is definitely worth downloading their free sample magazine http://www.patreon.com/meraklisinakiloyunlari?ty=c, which is 12 pages of good looking puzzles to keep you quiet for a while...

Nice puzzle Tawan, I like how the Masterminds glue it together.

Other Modern Tapas do not allow the cogwheels to be reflected, I think you should mention it in the instructions if yours does allow it.

Re: 2014 WPF Puzzle Grand Prix

I earlier had a look after 5 rounds, calculated everyone's 'best 4 scores'. The top 7 then were basically locked in, and the next 5 places were (in order) 8. 326 Jakub O 9. 318 Neil Z 10. 313 Peter H 11. 312 James M 12. 306 Nikola Z with only 3 spots remaining for those 5 people. And so after the 6t...

Thanks for the warning Tom, I doubt I would have recognised the Aktuellste Meldung message. I'm enjoying the 24HourPC puzzle types being showcased currently.

Re: World's hardest Sudoku and it’s a 2 x 2: Can you crack i

Everything I've read so far sounds like a standard sudoku app written by non-sudoku players. :|
There's been two further ramblings since the first warning. We all have better things to spend our time doing.
If it's world-changing we can find out after it's released...?
