Re: Division A 2021-22
The 2 point Country Road is straightforward - you can see the order of areas for the path round the right side of the puzzle. Bottom left, you can see where it needs to go from the "1" into the areas above and to the side. I mark the blank cells and those which need to have a path in them ...

Re: Division C and B 2021-22
Thanks Adam for organising this again. I thought I'd done really badly on that last round - nothing seemed to go right at all. Been ploughing through the puzzles afterwards, but they're on the back burner now as more important things to do - preparation for the UKPC.

Thanks Jeffery, I had a good think on that one what I was going to do for my notation after I'd looked at the example.

Just jumped on to have a go at the GP before time ran out, then realised it was the UK round of which I'd test solved some of them. Doh!

Re: 2022 WPF Puzzle GP
I enjoyed that set of puzzles. Stupid answer key error on #1 - half way along the line I suddenly swapped my letters over
. Solved all but one now - shape division (I'm really bad at these sort of puzzles), so if anyone can give me any pointers I'd appreciate it. Well done everyone.

Re: UKPA club nights - questionnaire
Sorry Tom, not been on the forum for ages for various reasons - need to get it back into my daily routine. I'm up for this sort of thing and through the winter months am much more available at weekends than in the summer due to the horse commitments. I'd be up for evening events too - do we have det...

I'm still slowly working my way through them, but the logic on my part seems to have ended and am trying to guess methodically. Well done to everyone that did take part in particular Freddie.

Re: UK Puzzle Championship 2021
Oh no, I missed it. I didn't read the finish time properly - I saw Tuesday listed as the date and naively assumed that meant that I had Tuesday on order to complete the test, and just logged in now to find the competition over. :( Sorry I didn't get to add one more to the participation total! Might...

Re: UK Puzzle Championship 2021
For what it's worth, I've plugged the contest in a couple of puzzly places, not least the 5,000-strong UK Escape Room Enthusiasts Facebook group, where two of the three moderators have played in previous UKPCs. There's not going to be perfect crossover, but hopefully it should attract a few people ...

Re: UK Puzzle Championship 2021
I've realised that there was an error in my scoring spreadsheet and as a result a few of the puzzles haven't been awarded enough points. The puzzles affected are: #8 Sashigane (20), #24 Hungarian Pentomino (45), #25 Kuromasu (79), #25 BACA (59), #31 Turning Fences (69). I've also spotted an error in...

Re: UK Puzzle Championship 2021
In the answer form, a couple point values differ from the ones in the instruction booklet: Gaps (35 instead of 20) and Hashi/Hotaru Beam (24 instead of 30). The total 835 in the booklet is wrong, but it matches the values in the answer form. Thanks for spotting this - on both I've accidentally used...

Re: UK Puzzle Championship 2021
The example for 29 Jumping Crossword has an extra word: "HAZIR" which can't be seen in the solution. Will the contest puzzle have extra words, or is this an error? This is an error - the example had been taken from one that did have extra words in the list, I'd removed another but missed ...

Re: UK Puzzle Championship 2021
Is there any chance of having the two sets of clues in Hashi/Hotaru Beam being a different shade? I think it would then be easier to tell them apart at first glance, rather than relying on the presence or otherwise of black dots. The puzzle author will make this change. I will provide updated infor...

Re: UK Puzzle Championship 2021
10,11. Castle walls: the example answer keys contain O instead of X. 19. Coral: the example answer key has an extra X at the beginning. My bad on both. I will amend when I update with the points (although I'm sure I'd accept either O or X for the unvisited cells in the Castle Walls and Castle Wall ...
