Re: 2013 USPC

I loved the Bombardoku -- the mechanism of "marked cells are correct clues and unmarked are incorrect" is really fabulous. I enjoy David Millar's Bigfoot puzzles for the same reason. I also had a great time with the cards kakuro but maybe that's more an artifact of how quickly I saw what was going o...

Re: 2012 U.S. Sudoku Team Qualifying

I had a lot of fun and some of the puzzles were really beautiful. I particularly enjoyed the Killer and the odd/even/prime/big/small/medium/composite/whatever one, but there were a lot of good puzzles. Provisionally I'm hoping for a 240 here!

Beautiful competition, thanks for the great puzzles! Just in case there might be an implicit very small spoiler, I'm not going to comment yet on which ones I found particularly enjoyable, but I look forward to discussing these puzzles once the exam is over!

Re: Nikoli Selection - LMI July 2011 Puzzle Test #1

Thanks for a fun contest! Like most participants, I suspect, I didn't get a chance to look at the marathon puzzles yet. I have a few left from the main test, too -- two of them being puzzle types I haven't practiced much, so I didn't really try to solve them during the test, and one that I just comp...
